Winterfest for the College Bound
High-School Boys Invitational
January 2-3, 2016
The Lacrosse Outreach Foundation is honored and excited to host another Winterfest for the College Bound. Student-Athletes participating in the event learn about the various levels and characteristics of collegiate lacrosse and gain invaluable insights into the recruiting process. In addition to the wealth of information provided during the event, the athletes will showcase their talents to college coaches, while playing in a two day highly competitive tournament. Every year we host the top high school club teams in the state augmented by select all-star teams.
ELITE HIGH SCHOOL CLUB TEAMS: Winterfest typically fields 16 teams as follows. Club teams representing high school 5A quarterfinalists and 4A Championship Teams are automatically invited. For Winterfest 2016, the following club teams have accepted our invitation: Arapahoe, Regis, Rock Canyon, Wheat Ridge, Mullen, Castleview, Grandview, East, and Valor Christian.
ALL STAR TEAMS: We are taking a different approach to forming All Star Teams this year. In the past we have formed them by region to give every qualified player in the state the opportunity to participate. The end result was not the caliber we were hoping for. This year we want teams to form on their own from those that believe they could be in the top 10 in 5A Colorado High School Lacrosse. If you have an interest in forming such a team please contact Ted Baruch. Ted would like to have a brief discussion with you on the type of players you are planning to roster. Please note that no player who plays for a high school club team who has entered Winterfest can play for anyone else at Winterfest without his high school club coach's permission. So far the Pike's Peak Lofers, Team Colorado U15, and Douglas County All Stars are forming teams and others will be added once we know how many of the aforementioned elite high school club teams are attending.
All STAR REGISTRATION: All Star space is limited, register soon. All Star Registration is $125/player.
We will close registration down for teams as they fill. In our efforts to best serve all participants, Lacrosse Outreach limits All-Star rosters to 24 spots. In the event an All-Star team is overfilled with invited players, Lacrosse Outreach reserves the right to move or reject registrants at its sole discretion.
HIGH SCHOOL CLUB REGISTRATION: If your team has been invited to Winterfest for the College Bound and you wish to accept please mail your registration form with a check by 11/1/2015 by mailing in your Team Registration Form and a check. Registrations received after 11/11/2015 are subject to availability unless you contact Ted Baruch to work out an alternate timeline.
TOURNAMENT: Pool Play Games will be played Saturday January 2nd. Games can start as early as 8:00 am and end as late as 10:00 p.m. Teams will then be separated into two single elimination brackets to be played Sunday the 3rd of January between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
